New Jersey health officials say the herb thyme is “safe” to take for the first time, but there’s more to it than meets the eye.
The state’s Department of Health and Human Services says its herbal medicine is an approved treatment for conditions ranging from headaches and depression to a rare skin condition.
In a statement, state health officials said that in most cases, people taking herbal medicine need to use it for up to six months to work their way through the adverse effects.
But there are exceptions, including cases of severe allergies, if the medicine doesn’t provide relief.
