But thanks to herbal medicine experts, the country has seen a dramatic reduction in the number of deaths caused by infections, and has seen the number and severity of serious diseases reduced by 70% since 2007.

Here are 10 herbs that are helping to treat malaria, the virus, tuberculosis, diarrhoea and more.

Aromatica The herb Aromacaria officinalis has been used for centuries for its healing properties.

Its name comes from the Latin word for “heavenly”, which suggests it is one of the most powerful of the traditional remedies.
