Ibo herbal Medicine, a Chinese company, has released a new herbal drug, Tiamat, which they say has helped people with chronic asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory conditions, according to the BBC.
Tiamat was developed by Chinese pharmaceutical giant Tiantai Pharmaceutical Co., which is headquartered in Shanghai.
The company says it is the first in a new class of asthma medicines that have been developed with the goal of treating chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, and allergies.
Tia Wang, Tia Wang’s son, told CNN that he had been prescribed Tiamad for his asthma, but he had never heard of a herbal medicine.
“It’s the only medicine I’ve ever seen that’s completely different,” Wang said.
“I’ve never heard about anything like this.”
Tiamath is a blend of several herbs, including turmeric, the active ingredient in ginger, and green tea, which has been shown to increase the body’s production of anti-inflammatory chemicals.
According to the company, it has been found to be effective for those with asthma and COPD.
“The treatment is based on the idea that people with these conditions have to work a lot more to manage their asthma and to control their symptoms,” said Tia.
“And we have to get them to feel more comfortable breathing and more productive.”
According to the website for Tia, Tiahouan, a compound from turmeric has been “tried and tested by thousands of people, and it has shown to be highly effective in treating chronic asthma.”
“It works very quickly and quickly with chronic coughs, with allergies and asthma,” Tiahun said.
He said the company is looking to expand into treating other respiratory problems.
Tiahun added that he believes the new product will be available in China in 2018, which is when he plans to return to school.
